Somerset England – Judging and Championship British and Irish Cheese Awards

Shepherd’s Store wins Champion Sheep’s milk Cheese, while Cashel Blue takes Gold in the blue cheese class aged over 12 weeks, acclaimed for it’s strength of character, the new kid on the block Toma No. 5 comes in with a respectable Bronze, a great start on the cheese competition circuit. Sarah Furno was delighted to judge the Export Class, together with fellow judge Nick Bayne from The Fine Cheese Company. A class in which 25 very different cheeses contended to find the best in class with a very worthy winner in the oozing form of a perfectly elegant and balanced Yarlington by Kingstone Dairy, a cheese that was acknowledged by the Supreme Judging panel to be worthy of the crown of Reserve Champion.
